Day Wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Madras:

  On arrival transfer to Hotel.Overnight stay at Madras.

• Day 2 : Madras / Mahabalipuram (58Km 1-1/2 Hrs):

  Breakfast at Hotel. Morning city tour of Madras. Here we visit the Kapaleeshwarar temple, Fort St George, Government Museum. Drive to Mahabalipuram, Day free to relax on the beach. Overnight stay at Mahabalipuram.

• Day 3 : Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry (95Km - 2 Hrs):

  Morning visit Mahabalipuram. This would include shore temple,Krishna Butter Ball, Varaha Caves & Group of monuments . Drive to Pondicherry. After lunch visit the Aurobindo Ashram, Raj Niwas-Governor House. Later visit the MatriMandir at Auroville which is 10Km from Pondicherry. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.

• Day 4 : Pondicherry / Tanjavur (177 Km – 4 1/2 Hrs):

  After breakfast proceed to Tanjore. Enroute visit Chidambaram – Shiva Temple, Gangaikondacholapuram – the great living Chola temples, Darasuram – UNESCO world heritage site.Continue to Thanjore. Overnight stay at Tanjavur.

• Day 5 : Tanjavur / Trichy (54 Km – 1 Hrs):

  Breakfast at Hotel. Morning city tour of Thanjavur visiting the Brihadeeswara temple,Saraswathi Mahal Library & Maratha Palace Proceed to Trichy. Afternoon visit the Rock Fort & Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple. Overnight stay at Trichy.

• Day 6 : Trichy / Madurai (128 Km – 3 Hrs):

  Breakfast at Hotel. Proceed to Madurai. Afternoon visit Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple – the temple par excellence & Tirumalai Nayak Mahal. Overnight stay at Madurai.

• Day 7 : Madurai / Thekkady (140 Km – 4 Hrs):

  Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Thekkady – Lake Periyar. Afternoon we make a guided trek to spice plantation followed by an elephant ride Overnight stay at Thekkady.

• Day 8 : Thekkady / Kumarakom (114 Km – 3 1/2 Hrs):

  An early morning boat ride on lake Periyar gives visitors an opportunity to experience the wildlife of this region. After breakfast depart by road to Kumarakom. Enroute we stop at Kanjirappally for lunch. This place is famous for the rubber plantation. Afternoon free. You can swim, fish, go boating or opt for a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.

• Day 9 : Kumarakom/ Houseboat:

  Step Gingerly into a traditional “Ketuvallam” rice boat for an overnight cruise. Watch the eddies of water swirling around in your wake as you drift along Kerala’s backwaters. On the way we stop to visit various Churches & Villages. Overnight stya on Houseboat.

• Day 10 : Houseboat / Cochin (75 Km – 1 Hr):

  Morning drive to Cochin. Afternoon city tour of Cochin visiting Fort Cochin, Spice market, Synagogue, Dutch Palace & Chinese Fishing Nets. Evening enjoy a Kathakali Dance performance at the Theatre. Overnight stay at Cochin.

• Day 11 : Departure Cochin

  Flight for onward destination
